CATHERINE CAPETILLO, MA
Licensed Professional Counselor Associate
Supervised by Julie Ung, LMFT-S, LPC-S
I have always had a passion for helping others. However, I struggled to find purpose and meaning within myself, my relationships, and my career when those around me appeared to have it all together. Couple that with processing personal grief, and I felt left behind and inadequate based on societal timelines and standards. These ideas of where I thought I “should” be were actually hindering my true potential. It was through my own work in therapy that I learned I was a bit of a late bloomer… and that’s ok! Self-awareness and growth can be challenging; I believe my experiences help me understand others who are also searching for more within themselves, and I am here to help.

As a counselor, I primarily work with young adults and adults experiencing a broad range of concerns including, but not limited to, grief and loss, life transitions, anxiety, depression, identity and self-esteem, spirituality, career issues, trauma, relationship issues, and women's issues (perinatal, parenthood, etc.). I specifically take an interest in working with individuals who do not believe they are meeting life milestones (late bloomers), those who are processing grief, new moms and caregivers, and clients who are interested in starting counseling for the first time.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of Houston and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University. As a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, I receive comprehensive supervision under the direction of Julie Ung, LMFT-S, LPC-S. I am an avid reader and lover of classic films. In my free time, I love to travel (anywhere with water!), experiment with new foods in the kitchen, and spend time with husband, young son, family, and friends.
